Proposed changes to IHS Bylaws

The Executive Committee of IHS proposes the following changes to the Society Bylaws, subject to membership approval at the 2014 Business Meeting:

1. To change the outdated title of Internet-Bulletin Board Editor to Webmaster. This will require wording changes to Article V, Sections 1, 4, and 9.

2. To change the title of Publications Editor to Web Editor. This will require wording changes to Article V, Sections 1, 4, and 7.  

Section 1 will now read:

Section 1. The elected Officers of the Society, shall be a President, a President-Elect, a Treasurer, a Secretary, an Archivist, a Web Editor, and Program Chair. Officers will be elected for a period of 4 years. Additional officers may include an Associate editor and a Webmaster.

Section 4 will now read:

Section 4. The Secretary shall make a record of the business meetings of the Society at each of the international meetings. The secretary shall submit a record of these meetings to the Webmaster and Web Editor for publication and dissemination.

Section 7 will now read:

Section 7. The Web Editor shall be responsible for editing all publications of the Society and shall conduct such business as is necessary to carry out this responsibility. Publication is used to mean electronic as well as printed.

Section 9 will now read:

Section 9. The Webmaster shall have charge over the World Wide Web Home Page and the Bulletin Board and shall be responsible for overseeing any staff associated with the Home Page and Bulletin Board.
