The Palaearctic Catalogue was published between 1995 and 2013 and covered the literature up till 2013. Apart from the printed version (still available) the aim was to develop a searchable database of the catalogue on internet. This project was adopted by Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden (former RMNH) as part of their cooperation with the Netherlands Entomological Society (NEV), the publisher of the catalogue. The database of the catalogue is built in LINNAEUS NG, a web-based management system for species information, developed and maintained by Naturalis.
